Accountant - month-end close (Providence, RI)

Silverline Kestrel Manufacturing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for machine downtime, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in Providence. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to machine downtime, and clear open items. • Track costs around scrap and rework against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with machine downtime. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
