Accountant - month-end close (Providence, RI)

Ironwood Medical designs and makes medical devices in Providence, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Providence. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around clinical evaluations against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with complaint handling. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Providence. • We reply to every applicant.
