Accountant - month-end close (Portland, OR)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Lakeside Arts Center Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 114 people based in Portland. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around volunteer programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to visitor services, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with visitor services. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Portland. • We reply to every applicant.
