Accountant - month-end close (Pittsburgh, PA)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Forge Freight and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with loads and lanes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Pittsburgh. • We reply to every applicant.
