Accountant - month-end close (Phoenix, AZ)

Stonegate Yarrow Energy is an energy provider in Phoenix focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage response, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with outage response. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Phoenix, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
