Accountant - month-end close (Phoenix, AZ)

Nova Nest Property Management is a Phoenix property manager with leasing, maintenance and resident services. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We are flexible about schedules. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent collection, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
