Accountant - month-end close (Phoenix, AZ)

We are growing our team at Redstone Timber Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 939 people based in Phoenix. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Phoenix. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
