Accountant - month-end close (Philadelphia, PA)

Highbridge Forge Environmental Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for recycling loads, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 112 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Philadelphia. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
