Accountant - month-end close (Philadelphia, PA)

Stonegate Bridge Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for proof of delivery, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proof of delivery, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with proof of delivery.
