Accountant - month-end close (Orlando, FL)

Amberfield Cross Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Orlando serving households and small businesses. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people based in Orlando. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
