Accountant - month-end close (Omaha, NE)

We are growing our team at Redstone Beacon Manufacturing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 99 people based in Omaha. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around tooling against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Omaha, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
