Accountant - month-end close (Omaha, NE)

Highbridge West Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Omaha. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 370 people based in Omaha. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer sites, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around safety inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer sites.
