Accountant - month-end close (Omaha, NE)

Greenridge Ember Property Management is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for unit turnovers, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Maintenance and leasing staff share information every day. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around rent collection against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with unit turnovers. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Omaha, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
