Accountant - month-end close (Oakland, CA)

Westbrook Rowan Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for ingredient orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 59 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around allergen controls against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ingredient orders.
