Accountant - month-end close (Oakland, CA)

Stonegate Summit Medical is a Oakland company producing monitoring and surgical equipment, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 12 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to device records, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around training materials against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with device records. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
