Accountant - month-end close (New Orleans, LA)

Cedar Yarrow Facilities Group looks after properties across the New Orleans region, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety inspections, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with safety inspections. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
