Accountant - month-end close (New Orleans, LA)

Redstone Quill Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around New Orleans. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with work orders. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
