Accountant - month-end close (New Orleans, LA)

Stonegate Union Inspection Services Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for field inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with field inspections. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
