Accountant - month-end close (New Orleans, LA)

Bluepeak Beacon Pharma supports drug development and manufacturing around New Orleans, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. People move between science and operations roles. What you will do • Track costs around clinical studies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with cleanroom operations.
