Accountant - month-end close (Nashville, TN)

We are growing our team at Bright Rowan Foods and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Nashville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around allergen controls against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer specifications.
