Accountant - month-end close (Nashville, TN)

Foxglove Ivory Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Nashville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 983 people based in Nashville. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to branch operations, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
