Accountant - month-end close (Nashville, TN)

Stonegate Wren Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around Nashville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Nashville. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
