Accountant - month-end close (Nashville, TN)

Westbrook Wilder Medical designs and makes medical devices in Nashville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory submissions, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around clinical evaluations against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
