Accountant - month-end close (Minneapolis, MN)

Amberfield Stone Health runs clinics and patient services around Minneapolis, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Clinicians and administrators work side by side. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to referrals, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around electronic records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with referrals. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Minneapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
