Accountant - month-end close (Milwaukee, WI)

Ironwood Willow Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Milwaukee, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people based in Milwaukee. What you will do • Track costs around regulatory submissions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinical evaluations, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with clinical evaluations. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Milwaukee, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
