Accountant - month-end close (Milwaukee, WI)

Highbridge Nest Financial Group provides savings, lending and payment services from Milwaukee. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 153 people based in Milwaukee. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor spend, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with vendor spend. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Milwaukee. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
