Accountant - month-end close (Miami, FL)

Nova Drift Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Miami with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fleet maintenance, and clear open items. • Track costs around weigh tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with fleet maintenance. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Miami, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
