Accountant - month-end close (Miami, FL)

Highbridge Mill Energy delivers power and gas plans across the Miami region, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing disputes, and clear open items. • Track costs around service connections against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with billing disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Miami, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
