Accountant - month-end close (Miami, FL)

Highbridge Vale Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Miami area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Track costs around school calendars against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
