Accountant - month-end close (Madison, WI)

Bluepeak Quarry Farms Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for seasonal crews, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with seasonal crews. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Madison. • We reply to every applicant.
