Accountant - month-end close (Madison, WI)

Greenridge Field Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for attendance records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 614 people based in Madison. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with attendance records. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Madison. • We reply to every applicant.
