Accountant - month-end close (Madison, WI)

Harborlight Lakeside Care Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for client records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We train and promote from within. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with client records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Madison, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
