Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

Nova Systems runs childcare centres in Louisville caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 36 people based in Louisville. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around tuition and subsidies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with enrolment.
