Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Corner Learning Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to attendance records, and clear open items. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Louisville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
