Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

Westbrook Lakeside Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Louisville, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Louisville. • We reply to every applicant.
