Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

Bright Birch Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Louisville with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Louisville. • We reply to every applicant.
