Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

Clearpath Corner Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Louisville region, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 77 people based in Louisville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Louisville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
