Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Granite Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with shrink and waste. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Louisville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
