Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

Greenridge Hollow Arts Center runs a venue and education programmes in Louisville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around event logistics against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with exhibitions. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Louisville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
