Accountant - month-end close (Louisville, KY)

Bright Pike Early Learning Partners runs childcare centres in Louisville caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Louisville. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Louisville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
