Accountant - month-end close (Little Rock, AR)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Hollow Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 53 people based in Little Rock. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to landfill records, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with landfill records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Little Rock. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
