Accountant - month-end close (Little Rock, AR)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Ridge Construction and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to subcontractor invoices, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Little Rock, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
