Accountant - month-end close (Little Rock, AR)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Pike Water Authority and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Little Rock. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around treatment plant data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter reading, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Little Rock. • We reply to every applicant.
