Accountant - month-end close (Little Rock, AR)

Bright Oak Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Little Rock, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people based in Little Rock. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to certifications, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
