Accountant - month-end close (Little Rock, AR)

Greenridge Thistle Early Learning Partners runs childcare centres in Little Rock caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Low staff turnover is a goal we take seriously. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with meal programmes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Little Rock, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
