Accountant - month-end close (Las Vegas, NV)

Westbrook River Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Las Vegas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 264 people based in Las Vegas. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with policy renewals. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
