Accountant - month-end close (Las Vegas, NV)

Redstone Lantern Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Las Vegas area, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 562 people based in Las Vegas. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around school calendars against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with family communication.
