Accountant - month-end close (Las Vegas, NV)

Foxglove West Inspection Services is an inspection company in Las Vegas with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to test reports, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with test reports. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Las Vegas, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
