Accountant - month-end close (Knoxville, TN)

Fernwood Amber Property Management Associates is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for lease renewals, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 285 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to lease renewals, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with lease renewals.
