Accountant - month-end close (Kansas City, MO)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Oak Facilities Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Bilingual teams are common. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety inspections, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around cleaning schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
